Lab paper accepted

A new paper has been accepted in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology led by SCAD Lab graduate Callie De La Cerda. The study examined young children’s willingness to tell lies to in-group versus out-group members. Researchers found that children were willing to tell lies to both groups in order to benefit themselves, but were more willing to lie to help in-group members and spite out-group members. These findings indicate that children as young as four use lying strategically. Callie is continuing her work studying child development as a PhD student at UT Dallas but we love that she is still collaborating with the SCAD lab!
