A new paper has been accepted in Social Development led by lab alum Allison Pequet. The project tackled the question of how social anxiety relates to theory of mind, or thinking about others’ thoughts and feelings. We found that children’s social anxiety traits are related to a heightened focus on thoughts and feelings in close friendships. Allison currently working as a research coordinator at Penn State where she is continuing her passion for studying child development.
