Lab paper accepted

A new paper has been accepted in Emotion co-authored by lab alumni Callie De La Cerda and Ashley Frost. In the study, we found that people who spontaneously looked more at the eyes of characters during film clips also had higher levels of empathy, but simply telling  people to look more at the eyes didn’t induce empathy. These findings indicate that simply increasing eye contact doesn’t necessarily change other behaviors. Callie is currently pursing her PhD in psychology at UT Dallas and after working in the tech sector, Ashley will be starting her Masters in Library Science at Texas Woman’s University this fall. Congrats to Ashley and Callie for this publication!
